Like a Tokaji Aszú – Szeremley Zeus Late Harvest 2005 from Badacsony

Image ~ February 20, 2022February 20, 2022 ~ Zoltán Németi

I don’t drink sweet wines often, but this is really a category Hungary excels in. This late harvest beauty comes from the north bank of Balaton, and it’s singing at the age of 15. Quite a shame that don’t produce it anymore, at least I cannot remember vintages newer than this one. Continue reading →

Chablis Grand Cru that lives up to the name – Domaine Christian Moreau Les Clos 2014

Image ~ February 13, 2022 ~ Zoltán Németi

If you saw my previous post I’m sure it’s the third bottle on the photo which got your attention (same photo is featured here). A Les Clos Grand Cru Chablis – a rare treat for most of us, and it’s not just getting crazy expensive but it’s not even easy to find. Continue reading →

Demorgenzon Chardonnay Reserve 2015

Image ~ February 3, 2022 ~ Zoltán Németi ~ 1 Comment

From the same occasion as the recently posted rieslings (here and here). All three were great, but let’s pick the DeMorgenzon now – the producer is one of my favourites from South Africa, but I actually haven’t tasted their reserve chardonnay yet (the basic one is always superb). Opened this bottle on the same night as the Aly Duhr Luxembourg Riesling, it’s such a different face of the variety. I love both them…

Great Riesling – Clemens Busch Marienburg Kabinett 2016

A bottle I bought at the producer, when visited the Mosel in 2017. It was great back then, and it’s great now. Continue reading →

Pellegrino Materico Nerello Mascalese 2019

One of the cheaper nerello mascalese out there. Prepare for something funky. Continue reading →

More, please – G.D. Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo 2019

I simply loved this nebbiolo. I could not even ask for more at this price tag.

Electricity bottled – Nyakas Irsai Olivér 2021

Image ~ January 13, 2022January 13, 2022 ~ Zoltán Németi

I rarely buy irsai, but when I do I usually go for one of the most popular ones, the Nyakas. Just like the 2019, the newest release is again a surprisingly good white wine. Continue reading →
