Sebestyén Indigó Zweigelt 2021

A new wave Hungarian red, there are things I love about it, but at the end, it’s just not there for me.

11,5% alcohol and that”s the issue here. While the early harvest makes it super bright and refreshing, and it’s not even underripe aroma-wise, the finish is sharp, pointy and short, because of the high acidity and the light body. It’s pretty on the nose, crunchy and Beaujolais-cru like, full of red currants and blueberries, but I wish it would be softer and more gentle on the palate, it fails on drinkability. 80 points, 2690 HUF or 4.5 Euros at Bortársaság.
