Torus Madiran 2015

I quite like tannat from Madiran, be it blended or pure, but sadly drink them rarely. This wine is a reminder I should do that more often…

Richard Rottiers Brouilly 2019

Image ~ June 6, 2021 ~ Zoltán Németi

A Brouilly from one of my favorite Beaujolais producers, Richard Rottiers. This is new to me, I only remember tasting Moulin-á-Vents from him, which I found superior to this one… Continue reading →

Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2018

Image ~ May 18, 2021 ~ Zoltán Németi
Value in Burgundy? Yes, there is such thing. Just taste the basic wine from Joseph Faiveley and you will see – actually it’s closer to premier cru than to basic wines when it comes to quality.

Better drink in its youth – Domaine Des Roches Neuves 2016, Saumur Champigny

Image ~ December 14, 2020December 14, 2020 ~ Zoltán Németi

At what age does a mid-range Loire Cabernet Franc tastes the best? A more adequate question is perhaps: if great on release, will such a wine offer that enjoyment later or dumb phases are expected, like in the case of Southern Rhone reds?

Give me more – great value Beaujolais Cru, Domaine des Brulets Brouilly 2019

Image ~ November 27, 2020 ~ Zoltán Németi
Beaujolais Cru is one of my all time favorites in red wine, there is just nothing like it. And it is often so cheap, as in this case.
