Back to Spanish garnacha. This comes from the same vintage as the Frontonio Supersonico and the price is similar – but it’s a far superior wine. A high-end garnacha if you ask me, and I bet it would outshine many competitors around 40-50€ – it’s great value, highly recommended.
Energy comes through on the nose, cherries, strawberries lead the way. Surprising elegance for a Spanish red, it’s so effortless that it has a pinot-like delicacy to it. This is fine wine, nuanced, not trying hard but with serious depth of flavour. So transparent and refined. Beautiful texture, perfect tannins. And despite the seriousness, it’s so easy to drink. Fantastic wine, 93 points. 25-30€. Ready to drink, but can be aged as well.
