Another superb budget Italian red from Lidl. At this price (£ 4.99 in UK, 3 € in Hungary) most wines are better to avoid, yet this is not just serviceable but rather good.
A simple wine but here’s why it’s likeable: it’s authentic and pure. No makeover, no oak chips vanilla and so on. Just real, honest wine. A nose of black cherries and vintage red currant jam – so Italian. Balanced, savory, dry. A lovely table wine, perfect for what it is.
