Must try Hungarian Kékfrankos: Zachár 2018 from Sopron

I could not name many Hungarian Kékfrankos wines from the last one year that I liked so much, perhaps just one or two. A new producer to be watched for sure!

A captivating wine. Charry, licorice oak in the background, an unusual sage note, some leather adding a traditional feel to it – such an interesting nose. Dry, savoury on the palate with great acidity and low alcohol (12,5%), no wonder that it drinks so well. Hardly medium-bodied but has good concentration. It grows on you. I enjoyed every drop of the bottle and want more! Highly recommended.
