Quite a reliable wine, the 2023 vintage of Tesco’s Campo de Borja Garnacha is just as solid as the 2021 was. A good quaffer if you are looking for something cheap.
A pure rendition of Garnacha – it’s ripe and generous but restrained and balanced. Strawberry jam, blackberry aromas, a touch of petrol perhaps; no oak in sight. Smooth and round, not too complicated, but feels honest and unforced, drinks well. Drink now, there is no point in putting such wine in the cellar. Good, 84 points. Good value for around 4 EUR.
