An olaszrizling (a.k.a. welschriesling, grasevina etc) from the northern bank of Lake Balaton, where it’s really at home. What a lovely wine, one of the better examples for sure.

This has lots of personality. Restrained, pure, very Old World in style. Neutral aromatics with red apples and grapey notes. Such a great balance at only 11,5% ABV; lovely acidity adds its flavour. Fresh and lively without being sharp. Nuanced and delicious, too. 89 points, great value at 4000 HUF (11 EUR).
