Roberto Voerzio Barbera d’Alba Vigneti Cerreto 2011

On a recent blind tasting I could not place this on the map. It smelled Old World but not something from the North, neither one from the Mediterranean. I should drink more barbera, obviously.

Cinnamon, plums and a touch of VA. Half way cool and warm climate. Medium-bodied, light on it’s feet yet it has nice concentration. Tannins, acidity well measured. There is some seriousness to it, a very good wine, although not complex or expressive enough to be great. Drink now. 89 points.
