A curious blend: Cabernet and Cinsault. I follow the South African Winemag so I know this is a historical combination of the two grapes (mentioned here for example: Why Cinsault is becoming a thing (again) ), and I like the idea.
Based on the taste I could not guess that this contains Cinsault, but the Cabernet part seems to be pretty obvious. What is shaping the character even more is the Old World style: it’s restrained and unforced. I would prefer more fruits and more precision actually, this is a little bit earthy-dirty and old school. But I like the vinous character, the good balance, the real tannins. It’s a good mid-week wine.
