Textbook dry Hárslevelű from Tokaj – Péter Pince 2018

Péter Pince was a new discovery for me last year. The dry wines
made at this address are among the most vibrant and precise ones in Tokaj, making the producer my current favorite from the whole wine region.

Wonderful clarity and definition here. I often find that dry Hárslevelű in Tokaj lacks aromatics, but not this one. Pretty floral fragrant notes on the nose, a slight resemblance to Viognier perhaps. The structure is true to the variety, acidity is lower, body is fuller, yet it’s crisp, tight and so precise. It’s not complex, but complete – I love it. But it’s backward, way too young, don’t open before the end of 2020.
