Tenuta di Carleone Uno 2018

Beautiful packaging. Kind of a new wave chianti inside it.

A bit funky in a low intervention way. Some VA, earthy and vegetal tones; a suggestion of stems. I would prefer cleaner aromatics, more fruit, but it’s better on the palate. A lovely mouthfeel, it’s juicy, crunchy, tight with great, firm tannins. Not forced or extracted yet has serious concentration. An outstanding wine based on its structure, but overall a bit challenging and lacks some varietal character, too. Only for the open minded. 88 points. Price is around 55€ / £50, available in UK and throughout Europe, for stockists see wine-searcher.
