I loved the previous bottle in last August and hence had some expectations when opened another recently. The months passed did not do a favour to this wine, it closed up – I often experience this with young Southern Rhone reds, so probably it should not come as a surprise…

Cote Mas Syrah Grenache 2020
I loved the 2019 version of Cote Mas Syrah-Grenache, and while a bit surprising, the 2020 is again a nice bargain.
Back to Rhone – La Vieille Ferme 2021
A bit of nostalgia, this wine was available in Hungary many years ago, imported by Bortársaság. Then supply discontinued, sadly, but I spot it in the Vinatis webshop when ordering some Loire reds, so here we are.
Jorge Navascues Cutio 2018, Carinena, Spain
A grenache, finally. I drank less of them in the last few months than it’s usual for me, but here you go. A spanish one that also contains a bit of carignan.
Value from the supermarket – Domaines des Lauribert Cotes du Rhone 2019
Picked from Auchan, my third bottle of the wine or so. Lovely affordable Cotes du Rhone red.

A favorite of mine: Cote Mas Rouge 2019
Super, super little red from Languedoc. It’s the rare case when I’m 100% satisfied with a wine.
Bonny Doon Vineyard “Le Cigare Volant” 2018
I think my first Bonny Doon wine. A producer that has been on my “must try” list for ages…
Lovely OZ Grenache: Willunga Clarendon 2015
As far as I can tell Grenache is on the rise down under, at least some bloggers are enthusiastic about the variety. I can see why, when tasting wines like this Willunga The Hundred Clarendon Single Vineyard 2015 release.
Alain Jaume Les Gélinottes Ventoux 2019
I loved the 2016 vintage of this wine, mostly when it was in its primary state, though (2016 Southern Rhone reds quickly went into a dumb phase in my experience, see also here). The 2019 is good, but not on the same level.
