A crowdpleaser. It’s like a New World red, oaky and hedonistic. Big flavour for the money, generous and smooth, easy to understand. Not for the ones looking for terroir or finesse. Tons of smokey oak. A bit sweet on the attack, but finishes firmly tannic. I could not say that it’s not good, but not for me. 86 points, was around 7 Euros at the cellar door in Rust.
