Value in Burgundy? Yes, there is such thing. Just taste the basic wine from Joseph Faiveley and you will see – actually it’s closer to premier cru than to basic wines when it comes to quality.
You get the real Burgundy experience here. The finesse, the savory character, the class. It’s not a midweek wine for sure. Flawless, so well made, yet feels unforced. Fragrant, vibrant, you can find a touch of strawberries and violets in the aromatics, without any sweetness. So polished it almost feels light, but there is a massive tannic structure on the finish. It’s already close to harmony, but it can certainly reach it when those tannins soften a bit. A classic, layered, charming wine.
