Chianti for me – Col d’Orcia Gineprone 2018

This Sangiovese is right up my alley. I should try more wines from Col d’Orcia…

Definitely not an oaky, forced Chianti. This is one for you if you look for traditional, authentic style. Savory, pure, red fruited. Tart cherries, no sweetness. Soft on the palate, with lower acidity and gentle extraction, but becomes fuller towards the finish, when the firm, pleasantly chewy tannins kick in, providing the classic angular edge of Sangiovese. So vinous, and has decent depth of flavor too. I simply love it.
