Collemattoni Rosso di Montalcino 2017

I hoped for a little Brunello, but this was a disappointment.

Old school and ungiving. First I thought it just needed some airing, but after re-tasting it many times I suspect some kind of flaw (coming from the winemaking) which makes this muted, earthy, lacking in fruit. It’s 15% yet tastes austere and drying. Bad quality, coarse tannins mask everything in the finish, leaving nothing else than an unpleasant, drying feeling. A bad bottle?
