The best Austrian Blaufrankisch under 15 Euros, from the bunch I tried recently. Highly recommended.
Shines right after opening. Pretty obvious from the first sip that it’s great stuff. Quite oaky, as most Austrian Blaufrankisch, but still savory and convincing. There is character to that oak, it adds some Chianti-like twist to the nose. Medium-bodied, lively on the palate, it has presence and intensity. It now started to mellow, smooth, yet lifted by great acidity. Marked, ripe tannins in the finish. Balanced, very well made, exemplary mid-range Blaufrankisch.
