Admittedly, I don’t taste tons of nebbiolos each year, but this was easily the best I came across in a long time. This wine has soul.

Such a traditional style here, quite delicate for a nebbiolo. Almost like an aged Burgundy, this is red fruited (cherries, rosehips) with that varietal camphor thing. Loosely knit and gentle on attack, then gradually builds to a firm, but not too firm finish. It’s effortless yet has an outstanding depth of flavour. Remarkably drinkable for the genre and has lots of personality, this is kinda special. I’m a fan, 91 points. Great value for 23,50€, stockist is Lobenbergs (and more).
