This widely distributed, big production sweet tokaji has been on the market for around two decades, and while I liked the early vintages, I missed the last ten vintages or so. What about the current release? It’s not just good, but actually great! An amazing sweet wine for 9 euros!
Still young and loaded with peach, ananas and citrus. Shows a bit of honey, too, yet it’s quite fresh. Rich and intense on the palate, but delivered with ease, it’s playful and seamless. Perfect acidity. Vibrant and easy to drink, but has complexity, too. Lots to enjoy here, a great wine. 90 points. Drink now – 2030. Great value at 3500 HUF, £15.99 in UK (different label, same wine).
