No wine review today, but something I’m proud of: my own wine is now available out there.
I have been wine lover for two decades now and I always wanted to not just taste wines and write about them, but to make some. The story really started 3 years ago, when my class mate from a winemaker course (2017) also wanted to do more than just making home made wines, so he established HOOP WINES in 2019. I have been involved from the planning, and it’s the two of us who do all the winemaking for his brand, and he also provides room for me to make my own wines.
And here we go, after the complication of making, maturing, bottling the wine, and also getting the official certificates, finding a brand name and have a label designed (all took more time than I could ever imagine), this Kékfrankos from the Gereg vineyard is out now. It’s available at Zengő Bár in Budapest, directly from me and soon will be landing at Kálvária Pince. Phew, this was a long journey…
