One of the most Old-World-like Cabernet I have tasted from Australia. Big thumbs up.

A modern, well made Egri Bikavér: Böjt 2016
I attended Borjour’s so called Bikavér Duel event in March, where the two wine regions eligible to use the name Bikavér showcased their wines. Eger impressed me a bit more than Szekszárd, especially the Böjt 2016. I bought a bottle the next week.
The new old South African red – False Bay Revenant 2017
A curious blend: Cabernet and Cinsault. I follow the South African Winemag so I know this is a historical combination of the two grapes (mentioned here for example: Why Cinsault is becoming a thing (again) ), and I like the idea.
Shiraz-Cabernet from Provence: Château Sainte Marguerite Symphonie Pourpre 2017
A French take on Shiraz-Cabernet. Or do they make the original one? This blend is not uncommon in the south of France, just think of such icons as Domaine de Trevallon.
