100% kékfrankos (a.k.a. blaufrankisch) rose is often somewhat one dimensional and rustic (angular, sharp), but not this one. What a pleasant surprise!
A true kékfrankos rosé: dark in color and powerful rather than delicate in nature, but gets the style right. Outstanding depth of flavour, it oozes cherries, cocktail cherries and red currants. There is real concentration here to match the structure. Intense and really delicious, without bitterness or hard edges. A benchmark for Hungarian rose. Very good (88 points). 2500-2690 HUF, great value, stockists are cellar door, Radovin, Ab Ovo.
