Just a €7 syrah-grenache from the Languedoc, but so enjoyable that I’m tempted to call it the wine of the month.
A pure and joyful expression of Languedoc syrah-grenache. Sunbaked black currants, a touch of rubbery reduction (so typical, I love it) and a full, generous mouthfeel. Quite like a Cotes du Rhone, but it’s rounder and more cheerful with less tannin and extraction. Seamless and intense, it’s open to business. A seductive, complete wine. Drink now. In its class: 10/10. 88 points, great value at 6.50 €. Stockist: Decantalo (current vintage is 2021).
