Such an interesting Kékfrankos (Blaufrankisch) from Gobri, this promising new producer in Mátra.
Pale color, rose hip aromas and crisp acidity are common features in Hungarian Blaufrankisch (must be a clone thing, it’s still rare to find Austrian clones in Hungary), but this also exhibits a sweet apricot jam note which rarely can be found in red wines. Smooth and hardly medium-bodied, feels light, but has a surprisingly persistent flavor. A graceful, feminin wine with lots of personality and great drinkability, highly recommended.
