It felt like Christmas when I opened this Tokaji aszú at the family lunch last Sunday. Just pure hedonism.
An interesting combination of the modern, fruit-packed and the old, oxidative aszú style. Honey, dried apricots, orange marmalade meets bread crust and tobacco on the opulent nose. Full with an oily texture, quite generous but not super-concentrated, it’s still quite easy to drink. Lots of honey on the palate, acidity is on the softer side (reflecting the warm vintage), and there is also a touch of bitterness to balance its sweetness. TA: 7.6 g/l, RS: 180 g/l. 91 points.
