The little brother of the Nipozzano turned out to be a superior wine. A benchmark for mid-range Sangiovese.
When the winemaker lets the grape talk. Sangiovese in its purest form. No sweet oak, no tricks. Restrained in a good way. A bit of rubber-like reduction on the nose, so common to Sangiovese. Lively and juicy on the palate, lighter on attack but builds to a firm finish. Beautifully massive and ripe tannins, without any coarseness. Clean and so well made, but utterly natural and unforced. I simply love it.
Rating: very good wine, virtually perfect in its class (9-10/10. On the 100p absolute scale: 88 points.
