If you are in doubt that Tokaji Szamorodni can be as great as Aszú, try the Gizella Pince 2017. It was my favorite from our recent blind tasting.

A fresh and tight version of Szamorodni. Complexity and balance are top class for the genre, not a hair out of place here – it’s a complete wine. It also has personality. Aromas of salted caramel, roasted nuts and yellow fruits, it has less of the common honey and dried fruits notes. So crisp and vivid on the palate, with the acidity nicely integrated. It’s full of flavor, but it’s more about energy than raw power. Such precision and refinement. Amazing wine.
