Unusually well made low budget Hungarian red. It comes from Kunság, which is part of the Alföld (Great Hungarian Plain), where the bulk of the cheap wines of the country is made. But here quality comes to mind, not quantity.
Simple but nice. Flawless and just feels right. You get the pirazins of Cabernet Franc in a form of paprika, accompanied by red currants – forget dark berries, it’s not a Chinon, we are in the red spectrum. Lightish bodied but well proportioned, it goes down so easily. Rating: OK to good, 83 points. Price: 1400 HUF (4-5 Euros). Value: I would buy it again.
