This red wine is made from the xinomavro grape which is sometimes compared to nebbiolo. This example does not look like anything from Piedmont, but it’s very interesting for sure.
Just 12,5% ABV and pale in color. An unexpected nose – full ot litchies and petrol. It’s a bit like a pinot with age, showing quite some development already. Relatively light in body, but quite tight with high acidity. Tannins are drying, only apparent in the aftertaste, looking more pronounced with each sip. This has tons of personality, with unusual aromas and texture, I can only recommend it. Not really complex but so different, so interesting. Better with food because of the tannins. 88-89 points, drink now – 2028.
