Real purity here. It was aged in barrels but that does not show – I like it a lot.

Saladini Pilastri Rosso Piceno 2022

Mostly sangiovese with some montepulciano and shows that with transparency, without oak notes. Black cherries, dried figs on the nose with a savoury, meaty undertone. Medium-bodied, unforced yet has that trademark, gently angular tannins of sangiovese, everything is in balance. Not complicated but it’s real wine.
