After some search, this was one the cheapest red Burgundy I found online in Europe – admittedly I mostly looked for merchants in Germany, as they are the most reliable and they almost always deliver wines to Hungary (and at a fair price). These days you won’t find many wines from this genre that cost less than 10 €, and those, just like this one, are most likely not a pinot noir, but a blend with gamay. It’s very good nevertheless.
Pale color, even for a Burgundy. A pretty nose, vibrant, intense, savoury, full of rosehips, cranberries and just ripened cherries. It’s like a Chablis in red: bone dry, tight, steely. High acidity – again, even for a Burgundy; and it works, this isn’t an angular wine. Decent depth of flavor and low ABV make this really enjoyable. A very good wine, 88 points. I bought it for 11,04€ from vinatis.de, that’s great value. Unfortunately it’s sold out – as the website says, “victim of its own success”. Drink now – 2027.
