The cheapest Penfolds wine I think, and it’s usually quite good. I liked the 2019 more, but this 2021 is not far behind…
An elegant wine with a bit of a Bordeaux character. Ripe yet fresh black currents on the nose with cabernet leafiness and just a hint of Australian eucalyptus. Smooth and velvety on the palate, absolutely approachable, easy to enjoy – it’s even a bit sweet perhaps. Polished tannins. A bit of a crowdpleaser, but so well made. 88 points. 9€, widely distributed throughout Europe.
