Itt és Most Pince is a newcomer to the Mátra winemaking scene, 2018 was their second vintage. Their Kékfrankos is already very impressive, though, a clear step up from the 2017.
Closed with screwcap, a wise choice. If you look for a textbook Kékfrankos, then this is it – cool climate freshness, sour cherry aromas, a palate driven by crisp acidity. Hardly medium bodied, tight, with moderate levels of tannins. Good Kékfrankos simply looks like this, when well made and not distorted by flaws or oak, the latter being subtle here. It looks honest, drinks well, and also has some depth and a bit of complexity.
