Drinking in Avignon wine #9. There should be a saying that goes like: never buy cheap Chateauneuf du Pape. It’s just a waste of many.
Domaine Deydier CdP 2016
Animalistic funk at opening, and it does not disappear – Brett marks the nose. A Soft, light, flabby palate with a coarse, tannic finish. This would be disappointing even for a cheap table wine.
Rating: poor, 73 points.
Price: 16 euros.
Value: bad, bad.
Tasted: in May, 2019.
Source: I bought it in a local supermarket.
I totally agree. Cheap CDPs cant age. I recent bought a 2012 and it tasted blend even though Robert Parker gave it 95 pts!
