I quite like tannat from Madiran, be it blended or pure, but sadly drink them rarely. This wine is a reminder I should do that more often…
This is all about great, firm tannins. Bordeux style, properly extracted, seriously structured – not overdone just well built and powerful in a medium-bodied way. Great balance, so vinous, so French. Some tertiary notes, forest floor, besides dried up dark jam and leather. Drinks beautifully now, lots to enjoy here.
