Grüner Veltliner is not a variety one associates with Australia, but taste this and you will probably agree with me: they should plant more.
The same precision you see in most Austrian renditions, but this is tighter, steely and bone dry, built in the Australian Riesling mode. So crisp and clean, it’s almost sharp. Perfectly varietal, green peppercorn and pollen aromas, it would not look out of place in an Austrian Gru lineup. Some fullness on the palate, even though alcohol is moderate, and it’s quite firm. Mouthfilling intensity and an outstanding aftertaste – this is truly great, very well made, up to the top tier from Austria.
