The more kadarka I taste the more I like the variety. It’s like a light pinot with a distinct spicy flavour – if you are into delicate red wines, it’s a must try. This one from Szekszárd producer Szekretár is definitely one to recommend.

Classic kadarka aromatics. Hibiscus, rose hips, cooked strawberries with some herbs in the background, this is just pretty. Soft, light and fragile on the palate, the ABV is only 12,5%. Juicy and so well drinkable. Tannins are the highlight here, kadarka often lacks them, but this one has a gentle grip, adding some length. Enjoyable on its own and will work with dishes where a powerful red would be too much. Very good, 87 points. Drink now.
