This humble tempranillo might be even better than its previous vintage (the 2021, reviewed here) which was already superb. What makes it outstanding is the level of refinement – this is as good as such cheap wine gets. I’m quite picky but there is not even the slightest detail here I could complain about. Honestly, I enjoyed this more than many expensive reds…
Purity and balance are the keys here. Black cherries, anise seeds, pleasantly bitter black currents – a focused, charming nose of perfectly ripe tempranillo fruit. No oak in sight, thank goodness. Seamless and juicy, no edges, not a hair out of place. So skilfully made and so delicious. Virtually perfect for its class. Coup de coeur, 87 points. A real steal for 1600 HUF (4,5€ ) (Hungarian Tesco).
