The 2020 vintage of the the Georges Duboeuf Beajolais Nouveau was on top of the game, close to the very best nouveaus I have ever tasted. But the 2022 edition is a disappointment.

This has the depth of a good Beajolais Nouveau, i.e. it’s far beyond the simple ones. Vivid on the palate, the whole bunches give an extra dimension to the texture, it’s bright and juicy, yet firmly tannic. But the aromatics are unattractive, candied, full of bubble gums. It just smells artificial and hence misses the mark. 80 points, 3700 HUF (9 EUR) in Auchan.
