A Northern Rhone Syrah from an emerging region, Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes. Promising but I’m not fully convinced.
The good bits: great intensity and a fantastic mouthfeel. So smooth and creamy on the palate, yet tight and properly dry at the same time, with quality, ripe tannins adding a lovely grip on the finish. There is just a pickled cucumber-like note in the aromatics which I find distracting. Buy only if you tolerate herbal characters in a red wine.
Rating: a bit controversial, but good wine, 85 points.
