This must be a cheap California cab if you live in the USA, however it costs more in Europe – close to 20 Euros in Hungary. A bit pricey here, but a bargain in its home I assume.
An interesting mix of elegance and New World opulence. Very intense and oaky, with lots of candied coconuts and sweet spices. Varietal, too, shows cassis and leafy notes. It’s smooth, seamless, the balance is great, extraction is gentle. No alcoholic heat at all (ABV is 13,5%), no bitterness, the tannins are simply perfect. It’s intense and generous, a crowd-pleaser, yet very refined. My only concern is that it’s just a bit too sweet on the palate. 89 points. Ready now, but can be aged for many years as well (until 2028 or so).
