A Brouilly from one of my favorite Beaujolais producers, Richard Rottiers. This is new to me, I only remember tasting Moulin-á-Vents from him, which I found superior to this one…
You get the cheerful and smooth charm of a good Beaujolais Cru, but there is a bit of a pickles-like green note which makes it less likeable. The palate is where it shines – it’s effortless yet juicy and intense, so smooth in texture, with a typical, grippy stem tannins in the finish. All in all, a good wine, but not as good as it could be with nicer aromatics.
