Can a Beaujolais Nouveau be still good in the following summer? Surely it can – at least the better ones from serious producers.
A Nouveau that transformed into a full-fledged Beaujolais Cru. Quite ripe, dark fruits like black cherries and blackberries mark the nose, as well as blood orange and whole bunch spiciness. That ripeness seems to be a common 2022 feature throughout Europe, by the way. Silky and seamless on the palate, moderated alcohol making it graceful. Then firm, beautiful stemmy tannins ad grip to the finish. A savoury, very good wine (87-88 points). Drink now (to 2024).
