One of the cheaper nerello mascalese out there. Prepare for something funky.
Rustic, leathery, even a bit oxidised. Some VA? Ripe, Mediterranean character with licorice, dried fruit notes and an edgy, slightly coarse palate which finishes hot – it’s not a precise wine, probably not one showcasing the variety well, but it’s honest and effortless (dare I say natural), likeable in some way. Needs some openness.
