The most well-known Hungarian nouveau style red. I cannot remember a poor release, and the 2022 again delivers.
Made like a Beaujolais Nouveau but from zweigelt and kékfrankos. Like the better French examples, it’s such an enjoyable red, full of energy and vibrant fruits. Lifted by carbonic maceration’s bubble gum notes, yet it’s rather savoury. Light but intense on the palate, with crisp acidity and great stemmy tannins, the whole bunches really enhance its texture. A fun wine. 86 points, great value at 2300 HUF (6 EUR), stockist is borkereskedes.hu.
