When it’s well made, there is nothing I love more than Loire Valley cabernet franc. This is a great example, I enjoyed it to the last drop.
Textbook Loire cabernet franc, just a little bit less structure and more drinkability, so that it’s absolutely ready now. Delicacy and power, purity and finesse, it’s all there. Not a top shelf, complex wine, but hauntingly beautiful. Vibrant, fresh yet ripe black current, graphite notes, no oak. Hardly medium-bodied with a silky texture and pleasantly soft acidity, so seamless and refined. Then beautiful, ripe tannins add the right amount of grip on the finish. Harmony in the bottle. 89 points, in its class: 10/10. Highly recommended, €12.33, stockists: Vinatis, producer webshop. Source: self purchase.
