I have not tasted a Los Vascos cabernet for more than 10 years, so when I recently spot a bottle in a local wine shop, nostalgia won and I bought a bottle. Even though I was kind of sure that I wouldn’t be happy with the wine…
Nothing has changed, it’s just as New World-like as it was a decade ago. No varietal character, only that in your face, obtrusive and sweet Chilean aromatics. Soft and a bit sweet, not much structure here. More akin to a zindfandel than a cab. Not bad, but lacks vinosity. 80 points.
