Street food is hot topic in Budapest, seemingly a new place opens every week. Many focus on Hungarian classics, making revised, or at least quality versions. “A Rántott Húsos” (translates to “The Breaded Meat Place”) falls into this category – the breaded meat has been a staple food for generations.
It ain’t a complicated dish, yet it’s delicious if well made, and that’s exactly the key why it has a bad reputation – it’s often, khm, not that well made. Not here. No frozen meet, nothing pre-made, it’s prepared freshly and carefully. We were satisfied with what we got, tasty pork in a nicely crunchy breadcrumbs cover. Recommended place. PS: the plastic cutlery is a temporary solution, they want to switch to an environmentally friendly option (metal ones).
