I bought Saint Cosme wines every year around 2010 and really loved the producer – I even visited them in 2013 which was a great experience. Then I somehow missed many vintages so I was happy to re-visit them again – and what a return! This basic cuvée was always great value but the current vintage is next level. I need to buy more!

This is an explosion of fruit at the moment. There is a Beaujolais Cru-like brightness to the nose, it’s so fresh, full of violets and purple fruits. Properly shows its typicity as well, with that ripeness and black olive notes. It’s full-bodied and powerful on the palate with great firm tannins, not hiding the fruits. Juicy and structured at the same time. So enjoyable. A great wine, 90 points. Drink now with the fruits in their prime, although it can be aged in the medium term, too. A steal at 10,90 €.
